Privacy Policy

1. What the app collects

Nothing. Staske Racing has no account system, no sign-in and no user profile. It does not ask for your name, your location or your identity, and it does not build a record of what you read inside it.

There is no analytics package, no crash-reporting service, no advertising network and no third-party tracking software of any kind in the app. Nothing you tap is reported anywhere.

2. What stays on your device

Some things are saved so the app remembers them between launches. All of it stays on your device:

• Scrapbook photos. Pictures you take or import are written to the app's own private storage. They are never uploaded, never backed up to us and never shared. Deleting a photo in the app removes it; deleting the app removes all of them.
• Favourites and followed events. Which circuits and races you have bookmarked.
• Preferences. Chosen interface language, whether the first-launch guide has been seen, and similar small settings.
• A schedule cache. The most recent race calendars, so the app opens usefully without a connection.

None of this is transmitted off the device by the app.

3. Permissions, and why each one is asked for

Camera

Only to photograph liveries and paddock moments into your Pit Wall scrapbook, and for the augmented-reality view that places a circuit model on a surface in front of you. No image or camera frame is transmitted anywhere. You can decline and use every other part of the app.

Photo library

Only to let you import an existing photo into the scrapbook, and to save a shot you took in the app back to your library if you ask for it. The app reads only the specific photos you select through the system picker.

Calendar

Write-only access. The app adds race weekends, qualifying sessions and rally stages to your calendar when you ask it to. It is not able to read your calendar, and it does not.

Notifications

Race reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device — one the day before an event and one shortly before it starts. There is no push server, so no device token is registered or sent anywhere.

Motion

Device tilt is used only to make the 3D and parallax elements respond as you move the device. Motion data is used in the moment and never recorded or transmitted.

Every one of these is optional, and each is explained inside the app before iOS asks.

4. Network requests

To show live race calendars and championship standings, the app requests publicly available motorsport data from these independent services:

• Jolpica — Formula 1 schedules and standings
• OpenF1 — Formula 1 session data
• NASCAR — NASCAR schedules
• TheSportsDB — schedules for several other series

These requests carry no personal information — no identifier, no account, nothing about you. As with any internet request, the receiving service can see the connecting IP address and the time of the request, which is standard for loading anything online. Those services are operated independently and their own privacy practices apply to what they choose to log.

The rest of the app — every circuit, corner, driver, record and glossary entry — is built into the app itself and needs no connection at all.

5. If you contact support

The support form asks for a name, a device, an email address and your question. That is sent to our server and used for one purpose only: to answer you and, where relevant, to fix what you reported.

• It is never sold, rented or shared for marketing.
• It is never used to add you to a mailing list.
• It is kept only as long as needed to resolve the matter and keep a short record of the fix, then deleted.

Please do not include sensitive personal information in a support message — a description of the problem and the screen it happened on is all that is useful.

6. Children

Staske Racing is a reference work suitable for a general audience and it collects no personal data from anyone, including children. It contains no advertising, no chat, no user accounts and no way for users to contact each other.

The historical content does describe fatal accidents in motorsport, factually and without sensationalism, because the safety measures the sport uses today cannot be explained honestly without them.

7. Your rights

Because the app holds no personal data about you on any server, there is generally nothing for us to retrieve, correct or erase. The data the app does keep is on your device and under your control: clear the scrapbook and favourites inside the app, or delete the app to remove all of it at once.

If you have sent a support message and would like it deleted, ask through the support form and it will be removed.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes to how information is handled will be described here rather than made quietly.
